A media set includes two components:
🧻 Paper Roll
🎀 Ribbon
⚠️ If the printer's "Ribbon" or "Paper" indicator flashes red, it’s time to replace the media set.
🔄 When replacing the ribbon, replace the entire media set (both ribbon and paper).
❌ Do not replace only the ribbon or only the paper.
🗑️ Discard the used media set and the opened media set box.
✅ Save the second media set (if available) in the storage black box or at the station (if space allows).
Lift up on the bar at the bottom front of the printer and pull the printer tray forward.
Remove the ink ribbon cassette and set it on a flat surface.
Insert the new ink ribbon by aligning the spools into the proper slots.
Press the blue lever on the side of the printer and lift to reveal the scraps tray and paper spool.
📤 Remove the scraps tray by lifting it up.
📜 Remove the paper spool and gently separate its two sides.
📌 Insert each half of the spool into either end of the new printer paper roll.
📥 Load the paper roll with the paper feeding down and remove any stickers.
🔊 Roll the spool down until you hear a beep, confirming the paper is loaded correctly.
📂 Reinsert the scraps tray into the front of the printer.
🚪 Close the printer door and push the printer back in until it locks into place.
📎 Attach the paper catch tray to the front of the printer.
If you install a new media set and the red light is flashing 🔴 and the printer isn’t printing, the quickest fix is to re-install the media set (ribbon + paper). Don’t try to “adjust it a little” while it’s inside — take everything out and load it again from scratch ✅
1. Remove everything completely 🧰
Open the printer and fully remove the ribbon cassette + the paper roll. Both must come out all the way.
2. Reinstall the ribbon 🎞️
Make sure the ribbon is installed correctly inside the ribbon cassette (not twisted, not loose). Then rotate the ribbon a little to tighten it up 🔄 (see the video below). Install the ribbon cassette back into the printer.
3. Reinstall the paper and listen for the beep 📄🔊
Put the paper roll back in and rotate the paper roll forward until you hear a beep ✅
That beep means the paper fed into the internal paper unit correctly.⚠️ If you rotate the paper and the end of the paper starts coming out from the top of the printer but there was no beep, the paper did NOT go into the internal unit (it’s just coming out). In that case: remove the paper roll and try again, rotating until you hear the beep ✅
