Google reviews build trust for future guests, strengthen the restaurant partnership, and help us grow shifts and opportunities.
✅ Best rule: Only ask when the guest experience is clearly positive.
1) Service → 2) Guest Mood Assessment → 3) Service Evaluation → 4) Review Request
⚠️ If anything feels off at Steps 2–3, do not ask.
A review request works only when the guest truly feels they received great service. Focus on:
• 😃 Confident, friendly approach
• ⚡ Smooth photo experience (fast, clear, upbeat)
• 📸 Quality photos + clean presentation
• 🤝 Polite, professional close-out
Before you ask anything, scan the table and the situation.
✅ Positive signs (good time to continue):
• Guests are smiling, relaxed, and engaged
• They buy willingly (positive energy, joking, laughing)
• No visible dissatisfaction during the purchase
• They thank you, smile at the photos, or leave a tip
• They compliment the photos or you as the photographer
• They seem satisfied with their meal
❌ Do NOT ask for a review if any of these are happening:
• Long food wait or obvious frustration about the restaurant experience
• Guests unhappy with food or waitstaff service
• Price complaints or discount requests
• Someone at the table openly didn’t want the photos
• Negative comments about photo quality (dark, blurry, background issues, etc.)
Use one of these quick questions:
• “Thank you for coming to [Restaurant Name]. How did you like our photography service?”
• “How would you rate the quality of our photography service?”
🟢 Green light (proceed to Step 4):
• They answer with clearly positive words (great/excellent/amazing)
• They smile and their tone feels genuinely enthusiastic
🟡🔴 Yellow/Red light (do NOT proceed):
• Hesitation, short/polite answers like “good,” low energy
• You sense they’re being polite but not excited
✅ If you do NOT proceed, close warmly:
• “Thank you, I’m glad to hear that. Have a great day!”
When feedback is clearly positive, ask politely and confidently:
💬 Script (short and natural):
• “That’s so great to hear—thank you! If you have a second, would you mind leaving a quick Google review for us? It really helps.”
🧭 How to guide them (Google Maps App or Website):
📍 Ask them to open Google Maps (app or website)
🔎 Search for [Restaurant Name]
🏪 Open the restaurant listing
⭐ Tap 5 stars to start the review (this opens the review box)
✍️ Write 1–2 sentences about what they liked most (optional, but encouraged)
🗣️ Helpful one-liner while they do it:
• “Just search the restaurant in Google Maps, open it, and tap the ⭐ 5 stars—then you can type a quick comment.”
🙅 If they refuse:
• “No worries at all—thank you again, and have a great day!”
We had a great time at [Restaurant Name] — the staff was friendly and the service was excellent. We also had an amazing photo experience with [Photographer Name] from Deluxe Photo. [Photographer Name] was professional, upbeat, and made the photos quick and fun, and the pictures turned out fantastic. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-notch photography services!
• Ask only after a confirmed positive moment (purchase + good mood)
• Keep it short—don’t over-explain
• Stand slightly back and give them space while they type
• Offer help once: “If you want, I can show you where to tap,” then let them do it
• Always thank them, regardless of outcome
